Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting inked with us

Before getting a tattoo, consider the design carefully as it's permanent, choose a reputable artist whose style matches your vision, think about placement and visibility in professional settings, and be aware of the commitment to aftercare. Additionally, ensure you're not allergic to ink by discussing any concerns with your artist, and arrive well-rested, hydrated, and having eaten before your appointment.

Pain levels vary greatly depending on your individual pain tolerance, the location of the tattoo, and the style of tattooing. Areas with thin skin and close to bones (like ribs, spine, ankles, and inner wrists) tend to be more sensitive. Most clients describe the sensation as a constant scratching or burning feeling. Remember that the discomfort is temporary, but the art is permanent. Our artists are experienced in making the process as comfortable as possible.

  • Get a good night's sleep before your appointment
  • Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water before and after
  • Eat a meal 1-2 hours before your session
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment
  • Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) if possible
  • Wear comfortable, appropriate clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo area
  • Bring a phone charger and entertainment for longer sessions
  • Consider bringing snacks and water for longer sessions

Proper aftercare is essential for your tattoo's appearance and healing. We'll provide detailed instructions after your session, but here are the general guidelines:

  1. Keep the bandage on for the recommended time (usually 2-24 hours depending on the type)
  2. Gently wash with unscented antimicrobial soap and warm water
  3. Pat dry with a clean paper towel - never rub
  4. Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare product
  5. Repeat washing and moisturizing 2-3 times daily for 2-4 weeks
  6. Avoid soaking (swimming, baths), direct sunlight, and intense exercise for 2 weeks
  7. Don't pick, scratch or peel any scabs or flaking skin
  8. Once healed, always use sunscreen on your tattoo when exposed to the sun

Tattoo pricing depends on several factors including size, complexity, detail, placement, and time required. Our artists typically charge based on an hourly rate that ranges from $150-$250 depending on their experience level and expertise. Small, simple designs might start at around $150, while larger, more complex pieces that require multiple sessions will be priced accordingly. We provide detailed quotes during consultations after understanding your exact tattoo requirements. A non-refundable deposit ($50-$100) is required to secure your appointment, which is then applied toward the final cost of your tattoo.

Yes, we specialize in cover-up tattoos and transforming old, unwanted tattoos into new pieces you'll love. Cover-ups are more complex than regular tattoos and require specific expertise. Our artists will assess your existing tattoo during a consultation to determine the best approach. Factors that affect a successful cover-up include the age, color, and density of the original tattoo. Sometimes we may recommend 1-2 laser lightening sessions before the cover-up to achieve the best results. Cover-ups typically need to be larger and darker than the original tattoo, so come with an open mind regarding design possibilities.

We prioritize your health and safety above all else. We use only premium, vegan-friendly inks that are free from harmful heavy metals and toxic substances. All our inks are manufactured specifically for tattoo application and comply with international safety standards. We use sterile, single-use needles and thoroughly sterilize all equipment between clients using hospital-grade autoclaves. Our studio adheres to strict hygiene protocols that meet or exceed local health department requirements. If you have specific allergies or concerns, please discuss them with your artist during the consultation.

We understand that circumstances change, but please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule. This allows us to offer your time slot to other clients. Appointments rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice may result in a forfeit of your deposit. No-shows without communication will result in loss of deposit and may affect your ability to book future appointments. We appreciate your understanding as our artists reserve specific time for you and prepare custom designs in advance.
